We have a holiday rental business and in between guests we found we had to fix blocked toilet. We phoned Shane from No Drips and he arrived within 30 minutes and he quickly fixed the blocked toilet. MY 45 year old house was in need of TLC

My husband and I manage the Pepper Hill Residential Complex which comprises of 92 townhouses. I also manage a growing external rent roll. We have been in the property management industry for 5 years and have always owned our own house and investment properties.
Anybody who has worked in this industry would know how essential and also how valuable it is to have the backup of great tradespeople who tick all of the boxes – always contactable, reliable, knowledgeable, polite, punctual, trustworthy, service orientated, reasonably priced, fast and efficient.
Three years ago, frustrated and tired of being let down by our original plumber and being called ‘love’ and given expensive quotes by a couple of other plumbers recommended to me, I picked up the local paper, scanned the advertisements and called No Drips Plumbing. Thank goodness I did – hello Shane and goodbye to frustration and ongoing problems!
During the time we’ve been using Shane’s services, I’ve pretty much had him do everything you would call a plumber for – general plumbing tasks like replacing old tap ware, installing dishwasher connections, repairing and replacing toilet cisterns and hot water systems, finding leaks in pipes, assisting with bathroom renovations, unblocking toilets and drains, finding blockages and repairing sewer pipes, finding and repairing leaks in water pipes, repairing existing drainage, installing new drainage and reshaping land to divert overland water flow.
Shane was also instrumental in Pepper Hill changing from one shared water meter to 92 individual water meters. I had begun this project prior to meeting Shane and nearly gave up because of council red tape. Shane took over and helped me to cut through the red tape. He dealt with the council and quickly moved the application through all of the stages to final approval. When the council required the water meters to be modified to meet their new standards, Shane found a way to do this and to minimise the expense. The water meters were installed, inspected and commissioned quickly, with very minimal disruption to residents.
A property manager’s relationship with a tenant is built on mutual trust and respect. It is extremely important to maintain an excellent relationship to provide the foundation for successfully managing the harder issues that can arise during a tenancy. Many property managers fail to realise the negative impact on their own professional credibility and reputation that poor tradespeople who are rude, late, don’t show up, clean up or lock up have.
I know that when I have an emergency Shane will be there as soon as possible and will generally have the part I need on board his truck. When I send Shane into a property where the residents are not home, I know I don’t have to worry. The job will be done, he will clean up after himself and the property will be locked up exactly as he found it. He is polite and respectful in his communication with the tenants and residents I have recommended his services to. I’ve never received a complaint about Shane.
Shane understands that I have to answer to owners for any property expenses so always takes the time to explain what is needed, provide me with options where possible, send me pictures from the job site if required so that I can see for myself the problem and most important, as an investment property owner himself, he is very conscious of minimising any expense I incur on behalf of my owners.
How do you put a value on that standard of service in today’s society? Makes me think of that Mastercard advertisement – Priceless!
